👨💻 About Me
Hi, I’m Lilin Wang. I will be joining the University of Florida in Fall 2026 as a Ph.D. student in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Informatics, in the College of Medicine.
I recently completed my M.S.E. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and I received my B.Eng. in Data Science and Big Data Technology, jointly awarded by the University of Liverpool and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
My research focuses on making better use of information in patients’ electronic health records. These records include doctors’ notes, test results, and medical histories collected during patient care. Much of this information appears in free-text clinical notes that are difficult to search and analyze. My work aims to identify meaningful medical information in these records so that clinicians and researchers can study diseases and recognize health risks earlier. I am also interested in social and economic factors documented in clinical notes that may affect how early a patient receives care.
I hope to contribute to making healthcare more accessible, reliable, and human-centered. Always happy to connect and collaborate! 😊

More Than Work
When I’m coding or reading papers, I’m usually with Xiaoman Xia — my furry little boss. She sits on my keyboard, supervises every Git commit, and makes sure I never get overwhelmed. 🐱💻
I love Lana Del Rey’s music and the aesthetic of her work. I’ve been experimenting with capturing similar vibes in my own photos and videos.
I’ve also gotten into film photography lately. Still learning, but I love the process and I’m always looking to get better at it.
